The 2004 PW Major team wins the 2016-2017 LIAHL title over Brewster 5-3.

After Finishing First in the League with an undefeated LIAHL record, The Edge moved on to the LIAHL Playoffs.  A win over the Rebels brought the EDGE to the Championship game.

The game was tight from the get go as the teams played a scoreless first period.

Edge opened up the scoring midway through the 2nd period as Ryan Landolphi found the five hole on the Brewster goalie. The Edge were able to capitalize again late in the 2nd when Lucas Puccia fed Charlie Eoanidis who got just enough wood on the puck to squeeze one through that ended the period 2-0.

The Edge feeling good entering the 3rd saw defenseman Dante DeBueriis go coast to coast and beat the Brewster goalie top corner to make the score 3-0. Shortly after Luke Sylvia made a tape to tape pass to Connor Squeri who buried it to make it 4-0. Brewster never quit and was able to score 3 unanswered to make the score 4-3 Edge with 42 seconds left, but Luke Sylvia calmed all nerves with an empty net goal to seal the 5-3 victory.

Joseph Giarratano (G) stood tall all game with some gritty saves to earn the win.

The Edge now travel to Amherst, NY to compete for the State title as the #1 seed from the East. Good luck to the boys on thier remaining schedule and congratulations for their impressive 45-11-2 season so far.
